Robin #0 is a special issue released by DC Comics during the October 1994 "Zero Hour" event. That month, all of DC's mainline titles uniformly published a #0 issue to reveal previously unknown background about their protagonists. This issue's story is titled "Brothers in Arms," with creative work by writer Chuck Dixon and by Tom Grummett, who drew and colored the cover. In the story, the current Robin, Tim Drake, and Nightwing (Dick Grayson) patrol Gotham at night, stake out safe-cracking thieves, and talk about why each became Batman's partner, as well as the experiences of successive Robins. The two discuss the influence of Two-Face, Harvey Dent, on the fates of two generations of Robins: Dick recalls that when he was Robin, Two-Face set a double-gallows trap intended to hang either Batman or Gotham's new district attorney, and Dick's mistake led to the DA's death—something he has never been able to let go of. Two-Face, meanwhile, under psychoanalysis at Arkham, says what he truly hates is the succession of Robins at Batman's side. Back in the Batcave, Bruce Wayne says he will take a temporary rest and hands the Batman identity to Nightwing, Dick Grayson; Tim Drake continues as Robin, partnered with Dick. Through a conversation between two generations of Robins, this issue sorts out the Robin legacy and the origin of Batman's succession, and is part of the "Zero Hour" crossover event.
