Fatal Sniper

Fatal Sniper is a military-themed novel by the online author Shitou Chengqun, set against the backdrop of counterterrorism special operations. Fifteen years ago, Yang Zhongguo's father joined the counterterrorism special forces; after a counterterrorism operation, he was branded a traitor by the military, becoming an indelible disgrace for the family—and this mystery became the deepest shadow hanging over the boy. Fifteen years later, Yang Zhongguo follows in his father's footsteps and enlists, determined to join the very counterterrorism unit his father once served in and uncover the truth of those years. As if fate intended to repeat itself, he unwittingly walks the same path as his father: rigorous selection assessments, nearly brutal training, life-and-death comradeship with fellow soldiers in desperate jungle straits, and one hard-fought close-quarters battle after another with armed militants. As the operations deepen, he gradually approaches the secret of that long-ago incident, while a crisis concerning the nation's fate quietly draws near. The novel depicts soldiers' growth and team camaraderie in a first-person-style, hard-edged voice, interspersed with jungle combat, tracking and stalking, close-quarters fighting, and sniper duels, threaded through with the bloody declaration: "Kill every invader for the nation, and with the hot blood and lives of soldiers like us, build a wall that never dies." The book is complete; the same author also wrote The Nation's Blade: The Strongest Military Edge.
