Peerless Demon Immortal

Peerless Demon Immortal is a fantasy cultivation web novel by the author Scoundrel's Play, serialized on 17K.com starting in 2012 and completed in July 2020. The book runs to roughly 2.21 million Chinese characters and nearly 700 chapters. It follows the conventional cultivation system but shifts its perspective to the demon side: the protagonist is a clever spirit monkey (an ape spirit) who inherits the cultivation legacy of a dying old demon in the Forest of Ten Thousand Demons and sets out on the path of demon cultivation. Guided by an iron law—"kill anyone who harms the demon race"—he breaks through level after level under the siege and oppression of human cultivators, refining his bones, condensing a nascent soul, taking human form, and surviving heavenly tribulations as he climbs step by step toward the realm of "Demon Immortal." The book's declaration is "If you cultivate as a demon, then become a Demon Immortal," and its blunt, brisk style unfolds a layered progression from forest hunting and sect trials to cross-star auction houses and immortal mansion explorations, with staff strikes and magical treasures flying together, and grudges and karma interwoven. As a massive work in the demon-cultivation genre, it elevates the demon from side character and villain in traditional cultivation fiction to a protagonist with a standpoint, grievances, and obsessions, offering readers familiar with mortal-path and orthodox immortal-cultivation formulas another way to immerse themselves. This edition is based on the well-edited text circulating via Zhixuan Cangshu (Wisdom Library); the chapters are complete and well suited to either a single continuous read or a volume-by-volume follow.
