Peerless Martial God

Peerless Martial God is an Eastern fantasy novel by Jing Wuhen, serialized on Zhulang.com from December 2012 to January 2015. It runs to 2,500 chapters and roughly seven million characters. The story is set in the Nine Heavens Continent, where martial arts reign supreme. The protagonist, Lin Feng, comes from Earth; after an accident, his soul crosses into the body of Lin Feng, the young master of the Lin family in Yangzhou City of the Snow Moon Kingdom, and merges with the original soul. Because his martial soul fails to awaken for a long time, he is regarded as a good-for-nothing by his clan and even expelled from the family. Yet the experiences of two lifetimes give him exceptional tenacity and make his martial soul awakening and subsequent cultivation path highly unusual. Thereafter, relying on a rare martial soul and astonishing legacy, he rises from a clan youth in a remote small city, wins repeated battle honors in the Snow Moon Kingdom, and becomes embroiled in the conflicts between the royal court and the sects, building merit amid them. He challenges the strong all along the way, leaves the Snow Moon Kingdom for the broader Eight Desolations and Nine Nethers, then moves on to the Primeval Stars and the war of the gods, gradually uncovering the secrets of the Nine Heavens Continent's layered worlds until he finally ascends to godhood. The book is built around the core concept of the "martial soul," which can evolve by devouring wondrous things of heaven and earth; cultivation realms rise step by step from the Qi Martial Realm and Spirit Martial Realm through the Emperor, Sovereign, Sage, and God realms. The work moves at a brisk, exhilarating pace, with counterattack and swift vengeance as its main draws, while also tracing a growth arc from human lord to sage king to ruling god.
