Red Wolf Vol. 6

Red Wolf is a six-issue limited series launched by Marvel in 2015, written by Nathan Edmondson and illustrated by Dalibor Talajić. The character traces back to the Cheyenne hero Red Wolf who debuted in Secret Wars: 1872. At the opening of the story, he is still serving as sheriff in the frontier town of Timely, hunting outlaws and protecting its residents. After a confrontation with the mysterious Surveyor, he is caught in a temporal disturbance and awakens in twenty-first-century Santa Rosa, New Mexico. With no identification and no law enforcement authority, he must rely on old-world judgment and his hard-earned skills to face modern threats—snake gangs, drug cartels—alongside local deputy Ortiz, while searching for a way back to his own time. This volume is the sixth and final installment of the series: a stranger stranded in the modern world must choose between staying and going home. The Rattler, whom he once subdued, remains unresolved, and the Surveyor—the behind-the-scenes villain who brought him to this era and is bent on killing him—reappears. The otherworldly energy emanating from a wilderness cave may be both the key to his homeland and the beginning of destruction. As a concluding chapter, this volume delivers an ending to the "man lost in time" arc and gives one of Marvel's earliest Native American superheroes a send-off steeped in the spirit of the Western.
