Usurping Qin

Usurping Qin is a long historical alternate-history novel written by Qiannian Longwang L following Han Heroes. It was serialized on Qidian.com starting in 2015 and completed in December 2018, with 1,165 chapters and about 3.18 million characters in total; no physical edition has been published. The protagonist, Yun Yue, was originally a modern person who, after falling off a cliff, travels back two thousand years to the Warring States period. He is rescued by an old woman in the territory of Zhao after the Battle of Changping and from then on takes root in this land as a member of the "Yun family." He suddenly has a grandmother, three widowed aunts, one paternal aunt and six younger sisters of different ages; this strange yet real kinship becomes his starting point for integrating into the Warring States world. From a bewildered modern arrival struggling to survive, Yun Yue gradually gains a foothold in the chaotic era through metallurgical skills, military industrial improvements and agricultural management, establishes the Pingliang base area, travels through the states, deals with historical figures such as King Huiwen, Lian Po and Crown Prince Dan, and between alliances and armed conflicts, little by little changes the course of Qin's unification of the world. The novel is tagged "history, alternate history, time travel, lighthearted"; the author says his previous work was darker, while this book writes more sunshine. The Warring States in this book are not only golden halberds and iron horses, but also scallion pancakes in the kitchen and quarrels and vigilance at home; it is a time-travel management-style work with a warm foundation.
