Volume 55

Summary
Volume 55 of 08 is the 55th volume in a comic book series. Judging from how the series is organized, it collects consecutive issues of DC Comics' Superman series (often rendered in Chinese as Superman or Smallville Season 11), and belongs with Volumes 54, 59, and 63 to the same set of Superman comics arranged in issue-number order. Smallville was an American television series that began airing in 2001, following Clark Kent's coming of age in the small town of Smallville before he became Superman; it ran for ten seasons. After the show ended, DC Comics launched the continuation comic Smallville Season Eleven from April 2012, written by Bryan Q. Miller, one of the show's creators, carrying the story into the world after Clark formally dons the cape: Metropolis, the Daily Planet, Lois Lane's relationship with Clark, and the choices of a new generation of villains and allies. The print series adjusted its publishing format during its run and ended in 2015. This volume is the 55th in that series and corresponds to one serialized unit; for the exact issues collected and plot developments, please refer to the table of contents and copyright page of the actual book. Because this is a single volume in a multi-part publication with continuous content across volumes, reading it alone may leave gaps in the backstory. It suits collectors of American comics seeking to fill in missing issues, fans of the TV series following the continuation, or newcomers wanting a sample of how superhero comics are published (serialization, collected editions, issue numbering).
Editor's review

FAQ
