Divine Doctor, Master Physiognomist

Divine Doctor, Master Physiognomist is an urban supernatural novel by the web author Left Hand, totaling about 3.13 million Chinese characters and now complete. The protagonist, Chu Nan, masters three disciplines: medicine, physiognomy, and ancient martial arts. After saving a special forces soldier, he is drawn into the urban underworld, yet he has no intention of relying on modern technology—he wants to truly carry forward the essence of Chinese tradition. The story begins on campus and in the streets: armed with only a box of silver needles and a feng shui physiognomy manual, he heals the sick and reads faces to discern fortune and misfortune, meeting all manner of officials, businessmen, martial artists, and clan figures, and crossing paths with sect forces such as the Hanliu Hall and the Cold Willow Hall, as well as hidden systems like the Zodiac and Constellation series organizations and the Earth Ranking. The work unfolds along the path of "raising strength—building connections—facing conflict," featuring both medical rescue and physiognomy-driven breakthroughs, as well as ancient martial duels, urban warmth, and romantic threads. The book has twenty-four volumes in total, running from "The Eccentric Youth Brings Much Joy" to "The Song Ends but the People Remain." The author himself admitted midway through serialization that, as the story's scope grew ever larger, he struggled at times to keep the plot under control, and updates slowed accordingly in the later stages.
