Summary

Jie Wang is a fantasy web novel by Skeleton Elf (Kulou Jingling), a platinum author of Yuewen Group. It began serialization on Qidian on August 20, 2009, runs about 1.19 million Chinese characters, and is complete; it is classified as fantasy · epic fantasy. The story is set on the Bora Continent, home to the eight tribes such as the Yaksha, Kinnara, and Gandharva, and threatened by demons from the "Muddy Phantom Abyss." Demons are graded as minor demon, walker, shape-shifter, phantom, terror, and horror, and whenever demonic energy swells there is danger of a large-scale invasion. The protagonist, Die Qiansuo, comes from Yaksha King City of the Yaksha tribe. At first he is an ordinary boy in a martial arts hall, considered to have no potential, doing cleaning chores, yet inadvertently reveals exceptional perception and character. At the novel's opening, in a chess game in the Phantom Abyss, he has won bets for years on behalf of Alfonso, the Undying and Imperishable King, one of the three demon overlords. Offered promises such as eternal life, he says only three words: "I want to go home." Thereafter he returns to the Bora realm and is drawn into the conflicts among the eight tribes and the demons, growing through battle, power struggles, and bonds with companions, and his choices eventually shake the continent's old mode of rule. The book's tagline is "Strangle miracles, cover the sky with one hand, eternal passion and hot blood, the legend of an immortal tyrant." It is fast-paced, battle-dense, and carries a distinct hot-blooded leveling-up style.

Editor's review

Not a good fit for

Reading tips
