In 2018, following the events of Batman's wedding, DC relaunched Catwoman's solo series with Catwoman Vol. 5, written and drawn by Eisner Award-nominated Joëlle Jones. The story begins with Selina Kyle leaving the wedding and Gotham behind: she moves to Villa Hermosa, a city as cold and corrupt as Gotham, hoping to settle down and nurse her broken heart, only to discover that a new Catwoman is already prowling her neighborhood. The impostor is wanted by local police, and witness testimony thrusts Selina into the center of a serial crime storm. To clear her name, Selina must first find out who is stealing her identity and costume, and why; meanwhile, she must navigate infighting within the local police department and prison politics, and face a powerful new villain who is after her nine lives. This volume collects the opening arc "Copycats," drawn from the first six issues published in 2018-2019, marking the starting point of the series' overall storyline.
