Catwoman #26

This volume is issue #26 of Catwoman (The New 52 / Catwoman Vol. 4), with the main story titled "Diamonds Are a Girl's Worst Friend," written by Ann Nocenti and drawn by Rafa Sandoval, released in late 2013 with a cover date of February 2014. The story follows the "Gotham Underground" arc: Selina Kyle descends from the surface into the tunnels beneath Arkham Asylum, gets caught up in the tribal conflict between Charneltown and the War Pigs, and the situation spins out of control with the intervention of the "Joker's Daughter." In this issue she reaches a deep region called "Rockbottom" and discovers a large number of "diamond bombs" made by Doctor Phosphorus—gems that explode at a specific resonant frequency. After narrowly escaping death, Alice Tesla uses a communication device to transmit the detonation frequency to her, and Selina joins forces with Rat-Tail to place these diamonds on the fissures of Rockbottom, planning to cool the lava pool with rising water before it detonates and prevent all of Gotham from burning. Meanwhile, War Pig takes a self-made biochemical toxin to fight Doctor Phosphorus to the death, and the Princess of the Firebox seals the "Joker's Daughter" in hard wax. Collapse, flood, and explosion erupt at once; Doctor Phosphorus survives, Firebox and War Pig die, and Selina returns to the surface with a bag of unexploded gem bombs—while at the opera house, a soprano with a remarkable voice is unwittingly approaching that dangerous frequency.
