Immortal Destiny of the Spirit Terrace is a modern cultivation web novel by Huang Shi Weng, completed on Qidian on June 11, 2021. It runs 871 chapters and about 3.276 million Chinese characters, with no print edition. The story is set on a near-future Earth after the revival of spiritual energy: since 2028, when spiritual energy returned, human constitutions have changed, the power of firearms has relatively declined, and martial artists have become the most honored class. The protagonist, Yang Chen, comes from a powerful martial family. His grandfather was one of the first founders to rise after the spiritual revival, but a major misjudgment left him embittered until his death, the Yang family declined rapidly, relatives were arrested and killed, and enemies took the chance to hunt Yang Chen down. In his previous life he was only a second-level martial apprentice; he gave up martial studies for the liberal arts, fared poorly in the workplace after graduation, returned to West City No. 5 Middle School as a Chinese teacher, and was finally driven to the brink by his enemy Zheng Tong.
