Summary

《Han Shu》is a historical time-travel web novel by Chi Ye, an author from Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. Serialization began on Qidian Chinese Network in late 2011 under the category "Qin, Han, and Three Kingdoms." The title means "Guardian of the Great Han." Modern special forces soldier Xu Shu is sentenced to death for certain reasons, but is used in a teleportation experiment and unexpectedly arrives in the late Three Kingdoms period. By a twist of fate, he enlists under Li Yan, who is stationed at Yong'an, and from there enters the military and political world of Shu Han. The novel is set in the often-overlooked middle and late periods of Shu Han after Zhuge Liang's death: at court, Huang Hao and Chen Zhi wield power, great clans grow dominant, and local strongmen command private troops; to the north, the warlords of Cao Wei eye them like tigers, to the east, the great generals of Sun Wu glare like wolves, and to the west, Qiang and Yi tribal peoples raid the borders. Through a series of events—contending for power at Yong'an, suppressing rebellion in Nanzhong, and the northern expedition front—Xu Shu secures his footing with special-operations experience and ruthless strategy, training elite units such as the Hushe Battalion. He earns the fearsome reputation that "when Lord Xu rages, Yong and Liang tremble," but his military achievements also invite suspicion. The book follows a time traveler embedded in the real historical fabric, with figures such as Jiang Wei, Wei Yan, and Li Yan appearing in turn, intertwining personal choices with national ambitions. Positioned as a male-oriented power-struggle novel, it includes some research on weapons, military systems, and tribal relations, and is suited to readers who prefer late Three Kingdoms themes and military-camp intrigue.

Editor's review

Not a good fit for

Reading tips

FAQ
