Colony Armor

Zhuāng (Colonization Armor) is a science fiction novel by the web author Qiānbǐ Dāo (Pencil Knife), serialized on Qidian and other platforms starting in April 2011 and completed about four years later. The complete work runs to approximately 3.13 million Chinese characters, spanning four volumes and over 1,200 chapters.

The story begins in the year 275 of the Post-Apocalyptic Calendar on the planet X35: in an era when mecha are gradually becoming obsolete and new-style individual combat armaments represented by colonization armor take the stage, traditional legions grow powerless before absolute individual strength, and new survival rules emerge accordingly. The protagonist, Xuè Tóng (Blood Pupil), emerges from the ruins, struggling to survive on the edge of subsistence. Calm in demeanor and governed by the law of the jungle, he nonetheless carries the world's greatest secret—one connected to the dangerous core of colonization armor.

The work constructs a progressive evolutionary system of individual combat armaments. The protagonist rises from a scavenging youth at the bottom of a planet to, by chance, becoming a cosmic mercenary and stepping into the vast starry sky; thereafter the stage expands from a wasteland planet to a universe of multi-racial contention, where in a dark-forest cosmos every race strives to the utmost for survival and continuity, and absolute justice and evil are hard to distinguish.

The book is distinguished by high-density combat description, a hard-edged aesthetic of violence, and grand war scenes, and is regarded by readers as one of the representative works of the mecha genre.
