Defying the World in Martial Arts

Defying the World in Martial Arts is an Eastern fantasy novel by the web author Panda Falling from the Sky. It was serialized on Qifeng Tianxia Chinese Network, is fully completed, and has 648 chapters. The story revolves around the young Lin Yuchong: he is the only son of the Lin family, a minor wealthy household in Wuling County, and at the age of nine he had already reached the fourth stage of martial power, earning him the reputation of a genius. But for the next five years he stagnates, unable to condense a qi embryo and set foot on the true path of a martial artist, becoming an object of mockery. Encouraged by the hall master Nalan Ya and with the help of a yuan stone, Lin Yuchong reignites his fighting spirit; by chance he swallows the Great Nirvana Rebirth Sword Yuan Pill, within which resides the remnant soul of a great tattooed alchemist who calls himself Elder Yuan, and from then on his cultivation takes a turning point. Set against the martial artist hierarchy of Wuling County in the Eastern Peace Kingdom, Suichuan Commandery, and the White Crow Hall, the work tells of a youth starting from the adversity of a declining family and limited talent, breaking through realms amid struggles and adventures and moving from great martial master toward a wider world. The work continues the classic fantasy power-fantasy model of 'the useless one's counterattack, the strong are honored,' with a brisk pace and dense conflict, pursuing exhilaration and hot-bloodedness; the protagonist is steady and enduring, believing that 'what I seek is but to be free and at ease.'
