Martial Supremacy Across the Nine Heavens

Martial Supremacy Across the Nine Heavens is a fantasy cultivation web novel by Yongheng Qingyu, first published on Zongheng Chinese Network on April 10, 2014, later serialized on platforms under China Literature Group, and completed in September 2020 at about 1.39 million characters. Set in the cultivation world of Xuanwu Continent, the story follows Ye Nan, born into the declining Ye family. His father, Ye Yunfei, once served as clan head but has gone missing, and he and his elder sister Ye Xueying are repeatedly bullied by their own clan. To protect his family and save the one he loves, Ye Nan embarks on the path of cultivation, aiming for the Ziyang Sect, one of the eight great sects of Chongwu Kingdom. The work revolves around two opposing cultivation philosophies: the "Killers," who are bloodthirsty and can rapidly raise their cultivation by absorbing the essence blood of those they slay, stopping killing with killing and advancing through slaughter; and the "Heart-Bearers," who rely on family, love, and friendship, controlling the sword with emotion and stopping killing with emotion. Ye Nan wields a vicious blade that feeds on essence blood; as his realm soars, he is constantly eroded by demonic qi and bloodlust and can only hold to his true self through the bonds of feeling in his heart. The novel advances through clan revival, sect strife, secret-realm trials, martial tournaments, and the gathering of three kingdoms, and concludes with a racial war and "the rise of the Heavenly Dao Alliance," presenting one person's choices and struggles between power and protection.
