The Path of the Martial God

The Path of the Martial God is an Eastern fantasy web novel by Qingshi Xiyu. It began serialization on Motie Chinese Network on June 7, 2014, and concluded on June 18, 2015. The book runs to about five million characters in more than 1,670 chapters. The protagonist, Ye Xingchen, is a modern young man who transmigrates to the Qingxuan Continent and becomes a member of the Ye family in Tianhe Town. The original owner of the body was gravely injured and his soul scattered after offending a clansman, Ye Yanshi; Ye Xingchen's soul takes over the body and unexpectedly binds the "Martial God System." Starting from the "worthless" constitution of the second level of body refinement, he relies on the system's task-issuing and points-exchange mechanisms to obtain cultivation methods, martial techniques, weapons, and pills. He makes a stunning showing at the Tianhe Town clan tournament, then leaves the clan, joining forces in Huntian City, exploring the ruins of the Huangtian Palace, and entering the Fengling Academy to cultivate. He undergoes dual-track growth in physical cultivation and soul breakthrough, and ultimately confronts the evil heaven clan and seeks the ultimate meaning of martial arts. The book constructs a progressive realm system: nine levels of body refinement, the three passes of grandmaster (physical body, spiritual power, and soul), and then the successive stages of spirit concentration, power gathering, dragon control, void, life and death, nirvana, supreme, divine essence, and divine king. It is a typical system-flow leveling fantasy: brisk pacing, clear stages, and dense face-slapping scenes, suited to readers who seek wish fulfillment and long-term progression.
