Summary
The Sorcerer's Ring is an epic fantasy series by the American author Morgan Rice, published in Simplified Chinese as e-books. Set in the Ring Kingdom, the book centers on Thorgrin, a boy from a small village on the kingdom's frontier: the youngest child in his family, unloved by his father and rejected by his brothers, he has dreamed since childhood of becoming a great warrior and joining the king's legion to repel the invasion of the beasts from beyond the Canyon of the Kenyans. When he comes of age but is forbidden by his father to take part in the selection for the king's legion, he insists on going alone to the royal court, and is thereby drawn into the struggle over the royal succession, the legend of the ancient dynasty's sword, a thwarted love with the king's daughter, and the mystery of his origins revealed by the court sorcerer. The series takes growth and adventure as its main line, interweaving friendship and love, knights and dragons, political intrigue and betrayal, fate and magic; amid training and battle, quest and loss, the protagonist gradually comes to know the mysterious power and mission within him. This entry is the overall series title; each volume (such as A Quest of Heroes, A March of Kings, and A Fate of Dragons) has its own separate title, and reading in volume order is recommended.
Editor's review
