Vengeance of the Moon Knight Vol. 2

This volume is issue #2 of Vengeance of the Moon Knight (2009), written by Gregg Hurwitz and drawn by Jerome Opeña, originally published by Marvel Comics on October 7, 2009, and the second chapter of the "Shock and Awe" storyline. The plot follows directly from the previous issue: after the preceding series Moon Knight Vol. 5, "The Bottom," Marc Spector—operating under the Jack Lockley persona—has shed his old brutality and returns to New York with a full set of new equipment, openly challenging Norman Osborn, the man who drove him out of the city. Osborn will hardly stand idly by, and the real problem is that he sends Robert Reynolds, the Sentry. The heart of this issue is the confrontation between Moon Knight and the Sentry: the Sentry questions Marc's mental state and his credentials as a "hero," while Marc must hold to his "no killing" line between Khonshu's whispers and his own self-doubt. Meanwhile, villainous forces including Hood, the Fixer, and Bullethead Lugman move in the shadows; old faces such as Bertrand Crawley, Jean-Paul "Frenchie" Duchamp, and Marlene Alraune gather around Marc again, and the shadow of Bushman resurfaces. This is a single-issue comic (about 22 pages of story), usually collected in Vengeance of the Moon Knight Vol. 1: Shock and Awe (issues #1–6), and is best read in serial order.
