The Strongest Doctor

The Strongest Doctor is a modern urban supernatural web novel by the online author Bansheng Yansha, first serialized on Yuelu Novels. It runs 777 chapters, about 2.53 million characters, and was completed in September 2018. The protagonist, Yan Jing, is an unemployed drifter whose life is flat and aimless. One day, while shopping online, he unexpectedly receives a medical classic from an unknown source, and from it he masters superb medical skills without any teacher. With this sudden gift, he opens a small clinic; the clinic contains all manner of bizarre combat equipment and medical instruments never seen before. All sorts of people thus enter his life, not least a variety of female characters, and around the clinic, his medical skills, and human relationships, a series of lighthearted, lively stories unfolds. The work is a typical urban medical power fantasy: the protagonist makes medicine his foundation, starts as a lowly nobody, and keeps opening new opportunities through diagnoses, contests, and social maneuvering, gradually building fame and strength. The prose moves briskly in short paragraphs, suited to fragmented reading. The book is full of slice-of-life banter and street scenes, while the main line follows the growth of the protagonist's medical skills and one medical contest after another, closing with a showdown at a medical skills competition. This entry refers to the version by Bansheng Yansha and is unrelated to other works by authors of the same name.
