Summary
This volume is issue #7 of the Starfire solo series launched by DC in 2015, co-written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti (released December 9, 2015). The story continues the life of Koriand'r after she leaves the Outlaws and settles in Key West, Florida: on one hand, her romance with Coast Guard member Sol Gomez heats up as the two share a sunset dinner aboard the sightseeing cruise ship "Sea Queen"; on the other, Sol has never gotten over the death of his former fiancée Maria in a hurricane, and a kiss brings back this painful memory. Meanwhile, a man disguised as a passenger is tracking a high-risk device that could cause mass casualties—none other than Dick Grayson, believed by the world to be dead. Operating as an undercover agent, he unexpectedly reunites with Koriand'r aboard the ship; the two join forces to seize the detonation device, bringing old feelings back to the surface. At the same time, the daily-life thread of Sheriff Stella Gomez and the townspeople continues to unfold. The title story of this issue, "Surrender," juxtaposes the lighthearted vacation atmosphere with action and old romance, and is the opening installment of the "A Matter of Time" storyline spanning issues #7–12. This volume is the seventh issue of the series.
