Summary
Star Warrior is a long-form science fiction novel by the web author Yushui, serialized on Qidian from 2011 and completed in May 2012. Running to about one million words in 352 chapters, it is the author's fourth work after Rebuilding Civilization, The Doomsday Super Merchant, and The Age of Fierce Beasts. The story is set in a wasteland world after a nuclear war: radiation has altered human physiology, and some people awaken a special power called "star force." These awakened ones are known as "star warriors" and are ranked from one to nine stars by strength. The protagonist, Zhang Jianyang, returns to reality after five years in an illusory realm. Though he has lost his original star force, he brings back experience and understanding far beyond his peers. Starting over in a wilderness overrun by mutant beasts and riddled with radiation forbidden zones, he strengthens himself step by step by forging star armor, compounding potions, and searching for star force orbs. He is drawn into adventures in Sand City and the maneuvering of various factions, befriends merchant caravans, comes into contact with the Star Alliance, and ultimately rises again to become a top-tier star warrior. Against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic ecology in which "radiation pollution and supernatural power intertwine," the work weaves in side plots of trade, exploration, and conflict, painting a group portrait of humanity groping for a path to survival in extreme conditions. The book moves at a brisk pace with a clear progression arc and carries the author's signature post-apocalyptic science fiction style.
Editor's review

FAQ
