The Silent King is an esports-themed web novel by Hainan Xiaoxishuai, set in the same universe as the author's previous work The Shy King. The story follows Xu Feng, an ordinary freshman at Haiqiao High School who is unable to speak. He spends his days sitting quietly in a corner of the classroom, and the only person who actively shows him kindness is the good-hearted class beauty Ren Xiangxiang—though her heart belongs to blue, the student hailed as the king of esports at school. A chance encounter draws Xu Feng into the globally popular real-time strategy game Ice Moon King, setting him on a path he never could have imagined. Astonishingly, in his first foray into competitive gaming, he unconsciously defeats world-class players like jack and fly one after another. Stranger still, each time he faces a formidable opponent and utterly shatters their confidence, he loses the corresponding memories. So the silent boy continues his ordinary school life, entirely unaware that he has sent shockwaves through the global esports community—and that countless Ice Moon King players are fervently cheering for him. The novel interweaves two threads: his competitive growth in the virtual arena and his secret crush on Ren Xiangxiang in real life, telling the story of how a boy with a disability gradually overcomes his inferiority, confronts his inner self, and grows from an ordinary student in the corner into the spotlighted Silent King. The work was first published on Zongheng Chinese Network and later moved to Qidian Chinese Network. It was recommended by the Sanjiang Channel and went on hiatus due to the author's academic commitments, with its final chapter titled An Unfinished Finale.
