The Stunning Classic

The Astonishing World Classic is the third full-length novel by Yu Chenyu, a contracted author on Qidian Chinese Network, following Reborn in Another World: Sword Emperor and Ultimate Inheritance. Serialization began on Qidian on April 6, 2010; the book runs about 143,800 characters and is now complete. The story is set on the fictional "Martial Arts Continent," a land that reveres martial arts and where martial skill defines one's standing. The protagonist, Chang Shu, grows up and trains in Wulong City; drawn into conflicts between the city lord's manor and various factions, he is hunted by mercenaries and forced to flee. He later enters the Ubar Forest and triggers a strange space hidden within the "Eight Desolations Dragon God Sword," where he endures trials such as an endless demonic tide, ultimately obtains the Dragon God Emperor's inheritance, and steps onto the divine path through the "Imperial Ultimate Astonishing World Classic" cultivation method. The work centers on martial cultivation while incorporating a distinctive professional-technical system of magical sculpture, along with exotic beasts, magical implements, mercenaries, the city lord's manor faction, and settings such as the "pure yin constitution" and "divine path restrictions." Through Chang Shu's progression from a low-tier martial artist in the small city of Wulong to one who ascends the divine path, it conveys the spiritual core of a youth unwilling to remain at the bottom, devoted to the martial way. The book is relatively short with a brisk pace, a typical early Eastern fantasy leveling work, and its "sculptor and martial artist in parallel" setting is relatively distinctive among similar works.
