Fierce General is an Eastern fantasy novel by the author Sanshiwu. It was serialized on Qidian from September 30, 2010, and completed on March 5, 2011, running to about 887,000 characters in 233 chapters; it has never been published in print. The story is set in a fictional late Tang era of turmoil: in the year 935 of Tang, the realm is beginning to fracture, with a three-way division already faintly visible. The protagonist, Deng Haidong, is born simple-minded, then suddenly awakens and proves extraordinarily gifted; on his first condensation of battle aura he reaches the twenty-sixth rank of the Red Pillar, which brings him to his family's attention. Fierce as a tiger and quick to repay both kindness and grudge, he bears the mission of restoring his family's former glory. Around the Chishui basin he gradually grows strong through military strategy and revised cultivation methods, passing through battles, power struggles, and love and hate, rising from an insignificant youth to a regional power. The work builds a martial rank system of "soldier, lieutenant, captain, general, marshal," links its chapters with poetic Chinese-style titles, and interweaves sweeping battle scenes with unforgettable romance, supported by abundant scheming and maneuvering. The story asks how, in a time of chaos, a martial artist should choose among dignity, loyalty to home and country, and personal fate; it is a typical male-oriented fantasy of the "hot-blooded contention plus military growth" variety.

这是一本“硬派成长流”的东方玄幻：没有开局无敌的爽利，主角邓海东从被人轻视的“傻儿”起步，一步步在兵荒马乱里打下自己的立世根本。作者叁拾伍最见功力的地方，是把“兵、尉、校、将、帅”的武阶体系写得像一部乱世军制史：升级不再只是数字变大，而牵动家族、军府、税赋、羽林的层层博弈。赤水流域的地理与势力被铺陈得相当扎实，第四卷“千骑卷平岗”起的大战调度尤见气势，读来有兵戈压面的硬度。章节标题全部取自中国风诗句意象，从“恰如猛虎卧于荒丘”到“千骑卷平岗”，四卷卷名本身就是主角处境与心境的隐喻。书中女性角色并非纯摆设，烈性红颜、纸短情长的桥段给铁血主线上了一层柔光。近九十万字的体量在同类作品中不算冗长，适合一口气追完；若你偏好“家国大义＋军略权谋＋慢热型主角”的组合，这本值得一读。
