- Readers accustomed to using ebooks on their phones to check areas and transport at any time
- Those interested in Mughal and colonial architecture who want to explore by district
Not a good fit for
- Readers planning multi-city trips around India who need national routes and intercity transport information
- Readers seeking in-depth historical and cultural discussion rather than practical information
- Travelers who prefer flipping through printed books and are not used to electronic searching
Reading tips
- Before departure, read through the district division section and define the core areas for daily walking based on your accommodation.
- List the places you want to visit by district and consult only the corresponding chapter on site to avoid flipping back and forth.
- When reading architecture entries, look up the historical background at the same time; this will make what you see on site more layered.
- Screenshot key addresses and opening hours before departure to cope with unstable networks.

About the author
Lonely Planet is a travel content organization centered on writing and publishing travel guides, founded in 1972 by Tony and Maureen Wheeler in Melbourne, Australia. Its first guide, Across Asia on the Cheap, grew out of the couple's overland journey from London through Eurasia to Australia, an origin that established the brand's emphasis on on-the-ground travel and first-hand observation. Since then, Lonely Planet has continued to release travel guides for a wide range of destinations, covering more than 180 countries and regions and distinguished by independent field research. The collection here includes 81 of its works, spanning city guides, regional travel and trekking routes; representative titles include Kyoto, Best of the US Western National Parks, Trekking in Nepal, Florence and Surroundings, San Francisco and the Bay Area, Kansai, Jerusalem and Understanding Israel and Palestine, with travel as the common category. These guides are known for practical information, clear structure and close attention to travelers' actual needs, and they have had a broad influence among travelers worldwide.
