Peerless Genius of Another World

Peerless Genius of Another World is a fantasy novel set on a continent in another world, written by Binghuang Aotian. It was serialized on platforms such as Sina Reading, runs over two million characters, and is now complete. The story opens with Li Wenzhong, a special forces commander of Country Z (China) regarded as a genius, infiltrating an enemy secret research institute to recover the fruits of national energy-cycle technology research; he dies during the mission and is reborn in a world called the Star Dou Continent as Nangong Aotian, a member of the Nangong family. On the Star Dou Continent, the strong rule and battle-qi cultivation determines status, while families, academies, mercenary corps and empires are in constant conflict. Drawing on the knowledge and memories of his past life, plus the opportunities of this one, Nangong Aotian takes the Martial Sage Li Youran as his master, practices high-tier techniques of dual water and fire attributes, breaks through realms such as marrow cleansing and ethereal emptiness, and also cultivates side professions such as artifact master and spirit healer. He undergoes battles and trials in the Magic Beast Forest and Kailai Academy, and meets and grows close to several kindred spirits. As the plot advances, his stage expands from family and academy conflicts to continental war, until he finally breaks through to the Martial God realm, confronts the Nether Demon Emperor who ravages the continent, and influences the fate of the entire land. The book follows a typical main line of "genius reborn, counterattack and growth," blending leveling and monster-slaying, academy rivalry, factional maneuvering and multiple female leads; it is one of the representative examples of early Qidian-era otherworld power-fantasy fiction, suitable for understanding the tropes of web fiction from that period.
