Naja is an action-thriller comic by French writer J.D. Morvan and artist Bengal, published by Dargaud in France in five volumes. Its protagonist, Naja, shares the book's name, a codename taken from the snake: she is a professional assassin and the third-ranked killer under the mysterious leader known as "Zéro." Cool and pain-free, her body and emotions nearly numb, she carries out missions cleanly and efficiently. In the first volume she suddenly discovers that after years of service she has been marked for elimination by her own organization, forcing her off her established path as she sets out alone to uncover the truth. The story is narrated by an omniscient narrator whose identity remains a mystery, layering doubts throughout the fast-paced chases and fights until the ending reveals who the narrator is. This is Volume 2 of the series, i.e. "Naja — tome 2" in the original French. Within the original five-volume structure, Volume 2 continues the suspense left by Volume 1: who is behind the hunt for her, why the No. 1 killer has targeted her, and what her mysterious boss "Zéro" really intends.
