Genius Sword Immortal

Genius Sword Immortal is an urban cultivation web novel by 17K.com author Fengyin Zichen (real name Shen Qiang). Serialization began in 2013 and concluded in 2015 at roughly 3.11 million Chinese characters; it was named one of 17K.com's top ten new books of the year. The story opens in the cultivation world, where young Ye Feng, chasing a demon, blunders into the Fire Cloud Cave, triggers a trap, and plummets from the sky—only to wake in the modern city of Yanjing, his soul now lodged in the body of a high school student who shares his name. This Ye Feng has just died falling from a wall while climbing through a window to peek at the campus beauty bathing in the neighboring villa, and was caught in the act. From then on, Ye Feng strives to resume cultivation in a modern world starved of spiritual energy and to uncover the reason for his transmigration, while becoming entangled with the campus beauty, a cold and aloof woman, his fiancée, and others, and getting drawn into the city's competing factions and hidden cultivation wars. Built around the core thrill of wielding the sharpest sword at peak speed, the novel follows its protagonist as he walks through walls, turns invisible, and flies through the air, moving freely between the city and the cultivation world; later plotlines expand to ancient immortal artifacts, the Dragon Sword Tomb, and larger conflicts among immortals, buddhas, gods, and demons. This is the Chinese Online digital edition, published in two volumes.
