Daredevil Vol. 3, Issue 5

This issue is the fifth installment of Marvel's Daredevil Vol. 3 (2011–2014), originally titled "High Wire Act." Written by Mark Waid and drawn by Marcos Martín, it was released in North America on October 26, 2011, and forms part of the early Vol. 3 arc "Midas Investments." The story picks up from the previous issues: Matt Murdock (Daredevil) takes on the case of Austin Cao, a blind young man who was fired from his job at Midas Investments, a company with ties to organized crime. Austin had worked as an interpreter for Latvian delegates and inadvertently overheard classified information. Mr. Zachary, the man behind it all, orders a hit, so Daredevil, in Austin's apartment, uses his superhuman hearing to detect a sniper and mercenaries equipped with night-vision goggles, sets an ambush in the dark, covers Austin's escape, and brings him back to his own home. He then tries to recreate the office environment to help Austin recall the clues he overheard. Meanwhile, Mr. Zachary activates a backup plan and hires Bruiser, a super-strong mercenary making his first appearance in this issue. Several hints suggest that the clues Austin holds are linked to a disaster that will affect the entire East Coast. This is the fifth issue of the Chinese edition of Daredevil Vol. 3.
