Daredevil Vol. 3 #36

This volume is issue #36 of Daredevil Volume 3 (2011–2014), titled "I Am Daredevil," and the final issue of that volume. In it, Matt Murdock decides to stop letting his secret identity be a lever for blackmail: he testifies under oath in court, publicly admits that he is Daredevil, and voluntarily retracts the statements he made when he sued The Daily Globe years earlier. This enrages Ogilvy, leader of the Sons of the Serpent, who controls the justice system from behind the scenes, and he sends assassins into the courtroom. In the chaos, Matt recognizes the voice of the presiding judge, Pierce, exposes him as a fellow member of the Sons of the Serpent who conspired to seize control of the organization, and then reveals his Daredevil suit in court to drive off the attackers. Once the dust settles, the New York Supreme Court acknowledges his role in exposing judicial corruption but cannot ignore the years of improper practice at Nelson and Murdock, and both Matt and Foggy are disbarred in New York State. After the firm closes, Kristen McDuffie brings up San Francisco in conversation, hinting that Matt should start over in a state where he once practiced, and that better doctors there might treat Foggy; Matt responds with a kiss. This issue closes Daredevil Volume 3, and the story moves on to the San Francisco arc.
