Avengers Vol. 8 Book 0

This volume is Book 0 of the Chinese edition of the Avengers Vol. 8 series, corresponding to the opening of the 2018 Avengers run written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Ed McGuinness and others. The story begins one million years ago: Odin, the first Black Panther, the first Iron Fist, the first Ghost Rider, Agamotto, and the host of the Phoenix Force—a band of prehistoric Avengers—stand against the Celestials, space gods descending from beyond the stars, and this ancient grudge sows seeds for ages to come. In the present, Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, and Thor reunite at a bar after their respective low points and decide to reassemble the Avengers; meanwhile, a colossal portal opens in Earth's orbit, dead Celestials rain down across the globe, and the true threat, the Final Host, reveals itself. Black Panther and Doctor Strange descend deep underground and discover an ancient cavern long sealed by Agamotto; Carol Danvers, She-Hulk, Robbie Reyes (Ghost Rider), and other new and veteran members are drawn into the crisis. As the opening of the series, this volume sets out the team's reformation and the origins of the first major event, laying the groundwork of worldbuilding and character relationships for later volumes. Translator, publisher, publication year, page count, and other details of the Chinese edition are not listed here, as no reliable public record currently exists.
