Avengers Vol. 7 #4

Avengers Vol. 7 is the seventh volume of Avengers, written by Mark Waid and drawn by Mike Del Mundo, relaunched in 2016 under Marvel's "Marvel NOW!" initiative. The story picks up right after Civil War II: Nova, Miles Morales Spider-Man, and Ms. Marvel leave the team in succession, and the roster regroups with Captain America (Sam Wilson), Jane Foster Thor, Vision, Nadia Van Dyne Wasp, Hercules, and Spider-Man (Peter Parker). This issue is #4 of the series and part of the "Kang War" storyline: Vision once stole the infant Kang the Conqueror from his cradle and hid him in the 21st century, triggering the mad vengeance of Kang and his descendant the Crimson Centurion, with the two sides clashing repeatedly across the timestream. This issue unfolds from Kang's perspective, reviewing his journey from Rama-Tut to Kang the Conqueror step by step, while the Avengers launch a counterattack according to the plan Sam proposed in the previous issue; when three generations of Avengers—the founding lineup, the 1980s lineup, and the current lineup—appear together before Kang's citadel, even Kang himself feels fear for the first time. Overseas reviews generally regard this issue as a transitional chapter between the two main arcs, with little plot advancement, but thanks to its many spreads and strong nostalgia, it is one of the most visually striking issues of the volume.
