Sword Devourer

Sword Devourer is an Eastern fantasy web novel by Shi Laohu, serialized on Zongheng Chinese from August 2010 to June 2011, totaling about 2.07 million characters and 665 chapters. The protagonist, Ye Feng, was once a promising youth of the Lishui Sword Sect, but because his Sword Soul level had stagnated at level one for years, he was publicly eliminated in the advancement test and became an object of ridicule. Returning to his lodgings, he discusses with his friend Luo Hu a plan to train hard at the Nanshan pool to prepare for the sect examination in three months. By chance, Ye Feng awakens the soul of the peerless master Xiao Bai hidden in his pendant and, under Xiao Bai's guidance, begins practicing the Spirit-Devouring Art and the more domineering Heaven-Devouring Art, and his cultivation advances by leaps and bounds. To save his poisoned father, Ye Tianxing, he returns to Xianhe Town, where his family resides, and becomes entangled in commercial battles and conspiracies between his family and outside forces; he later undergoes trials such as exploring the Liluo Forest and breaking through the Sword Tomb, gradually uncovering the mystery of his origins. The book is divided into five volumes, including Dragon Raises Its Head and Dragon Soars in the Sky, with sword cultivation as the main thread, blending Jianghu intrigue, sect conflicts, and battlefield slaughter, and building a clear cultivation system through martial-arts settings such as the Spirit-Devouring Art, the Heaven-Devouring Art, and the Five Elements Sword Formation. It is a typical hot-blooded power-fantasy of a young man's counterattack, moving from forbearance to blazing brilliance.
