Summary
Swallowing the Dragon is an Eastern fantasy (classical xianxia) novel by the web author Ru Lang Si Hu. It began serialization on Taduo Literature in December 2012 and concluded on April 5, 2016, running to roughly 4.3898 million characters in 2,021 chapters. The digital rights are held by Taduo Literature. The story opens atop Mount Kunlun: Lin Yi, the strongest man on Earth, is drawn into a bloody, conspiracy-ridden ambush and accidentally falls into a vast xianxia world. This world has ancient stars where giant life forms dwell, and ancient legends tied to dragons such as the Ancestral Dragon Vein and the Ancestral Spirit Stone. Cultivation is its only order. Relying on exceptional aptitude and ruthless methods, Lin Yi battles rival factions amid a chaotic age in which prodigies contend for supremacy, rising step by step until he reaches the position of the strongest. The work's main draws are "playing the pig to eat the tiger," face-slapping power-ups, and cultivation progression. It moves fast and delivers frequent payoffs, a typical early long-form power-fantasy xianxia novel.
Editor's review
