This is issue #0 of Dreamwave's Transformers: Generation 1 Vol. 3—the Preview released in December 2003, a prologue published before the series' officially numbered issue #1. Vol. 3 was a new series DW launched after Generation 1 Vol. 2, "War and Peace," written by Brad Mick and drawn by Don Figueroa, continuing the post-civil-war world DW had established: the Autobots and Decepticons continue their struggle on both the Cybertron and Earth fronts, Starscream and other Decepticons break away to form their own faction, and Prowl and others struggle to maintain order on Cybertron. The series published a dozen or so issues numbered 0 through 10, finally cut short when Dreamwave went bankrupt; issues #11 and #12 survive only as line art, making this one of the famous unfinished works in Transformers comics history. This volume is one of the first seven books of the Seibertron fan translation of Generation 1 Vol. 3 and can be seen as the starting point and stylistic preview of the entire third volume.
