Spoiling the Myriad Worlds

Spoiling the Myriad Worlds is a fan-fiction web novel by Gemini Fish (Shuangzi Zuoyouyu) serialized on Qidian Chinese Network. It is approximately 1.1766 million Chinese characters long, with 562 chapters (558 in the main text), and is complete. The story is set in a myriad worlds where darkness and the bizarre are reviving: forces from the primordial evil gods keep reaching into various worlds, and the "Mist Council," which stands above the endless worlds, is the only power capable of resisting them. The protagonist, Su Han, is a high school student in Jiangzhou who unexpectedly develops a space in his mind called "Above the Mist." In this space, he can create almost anything by will but cannot bring his creations out; what he actually exploits is the space's ability to summon powerful figures from the myriad worlds. Whitebeard, Uchiha Madara, Tony Stark, Batman, the Heavenly Emperor Ye, Dugu Baitian, the Desolate Heavenly Emperor… these summoned figures are either top powers of their worlds, protagonists of destiny, or standing at turning points in their world's history. Su Han and they gather in the council as "councilors" and communicate; by merely "spoiling" part of the future of each person's world, he can obtain their abilities through equivalent exchange and turn those abilities into cards that he brings out of the Mist Space. Thus much of the book's fun comes from "information asymmetry": Su Han sits on the throne, facing a host of giants below, and merely says lightly, "Yes, that's right, everything you're imagining is correct," and the councilors spin out all sorts of grand explanations on their own, regarding the council chairman as the most unfathomable being. Cthulhu-style indescribable horror, the convergence of multiple worlds, and light-comedy snark are all blended together in this book.
