Full-Time Genius

Full-Time Genius is an urban-themed novel by the web author Golden Left Hand, serialized on the iQIYI Novel platform. The book is complete, with 1,383 chapters and about 2.8296 million characters. The protagonist, Chen Tang, is an "all-purpose broker" who moves through the black market and the gray zones: if you need a doctor or medicine, he can reach the heir of the Medicine King; if you need people to get things done, he knows the King of Assassins and retired special agents; if someone needs to stand in front, he will step up himself. His catchphrase is "Whatever you need, I'll connect you." But behind this seemingly slick trade lies another story: Chen Tang's father was poisoned, and he has returned from Siberia to China, using bodyguard work as cover to take jobs and establish himself while investigating the truth of his father's murder. As commissions come one after another, hacking skills, close protection, and underground conflicts take turns on stage; organizations such as the Yamada Group and the Dragon Group surface one by one, and through repeated investigations and choices he gradually uncovers the mastermind behind it all, rising from a despised "broker" to something more. Set against urban life, the novel blends suspense, action, and the human dealings of the gray zone, advancing the plot through Chen Tang's cycle of "taking jobs—getting things done—investigating the case," interspersed with moral tests of the "good and evil in a single thought" kind, and shaping an urban prodigy who is glib-tongued, ruthless in action, and loyal to friends. The book moves fast, is dialogue-heavy, and its set pieces are brisk—a typical male-oriented urban power-fantasy, suited to readers who enjoy fast-paced serials and the intertwining of mission and revenge storylines.
