在很多医生流作品把主角写成“天生神医”的时候，《全职国医》难得地把成长过程写清了：主角方寒起初胸无大志，只想混个职称、过安稳日子，是被系统与一次次真实的病例推着往前走的。这种“小咸鱼被迫营业”的设定，让他的每一次出手都带着几分无奈又几分得意的趣味，读起来轻松不腻。 本书最见功力的是功课做得扎实。针灸、正骨、辨证问诊，以及不少临床疑难病症的处置，都能看出作者查阅过大量资料，还化用了许多真实案例，所以专业段落不悬浮，外行也能看得懂门道。中医为主、西医手术为辅的写法，也避免了单一爽点堆砌到后期乏味。 需要提醒的是，本书感情线和女性角色塑造是公认的弱项，中后期也有灌水、套路重复的问题。但作为一部已完结、体量够大的下饭向都市医学爽文，它依然是同类型里值得一读的那一本。
