The All-Class Mage God

The All-Class Mage God is a novel of the otherworldly continent genre by the web author Half a Watermelon, serialized on Qidian Chinese Network from October 2013 and completed in December 2014, running to more than eight hundred chapters and over two million characters. At the opening, the protagonist Xia Ming, while conquering the final dungeon of the online game Eternity, obtains the mythical item the Book of Eternity and is promptly transported to the continent of Canaan, where magic and battle aura coexist. The book records countless magical knowledge and all manner of professional skills—potions, materials, inscriptions, enchantment, Elvish, Draconic and more—so that Xia Ming, in addition to being a mage, also masters numerous secondary professions. More astonishing still, his magical talent far exceeds that of Orlando, the legendary mage god who single-handedly withstood a legion of necromancers: Orlando's talent is grade eleven, Xia Ming's is grade twelve. From his first meditation after arriving in the other world to his studies at Cangyan Academy, foremost of the continent's four great academies; from trials in the Green Caterpillar Forest, the mines and the auction house to fame won through magical painting and the potion convention, Xia Ming relies on the knowledge advantage brought by the Book of Eternity and his extraordinary talent to rise from a low-rank mage to a powerhouse capable of swaying the fate of the continent, and ultimately, in the confrontation with the forces of the abyss, to comprehend the laws and ascend to the position of mage god. The book is distinguished by its systematic magical rank setting, relaxed leveling pace and the growth arc of "knowledge is power," and is a representative all-class work in Qidian's fantasy category.
