Summary
Five years later, the truth finally comes out when he takes his son to visit relatives at his grandmother's home. During a Japanese sweep, his wife and child are brutally killed by the enemy; seeking revenge, he encounters the Eighth Route Army and joins the revolution. Shuangxi remarries and has a son, nicknamed Tiedan, formally named Li Chuancheng.
During the civil war against the Nationalists, Shuangxi adopts a pair of twins, a boy and a girl, from Wang Aihua, an angel (nurse) of a regiment under the Eighth Route Army's 115th Division, and leaves behind a secret letter. For the children's safety, Shuangxi sends his son and the twins, Xiaolong and Xiaofeng, to become monks at the Lüzu Pavilion.
After Xiaolong and Xiaofeng's parents die, they are adopted by their aunt and renamed Wang Xiaolong and Wang Xiaoyan. Years pass without contact; Tiedan and the twins enter middle school without recognizing each other. In PE class, Xiaofeng accidentally spots the lotus birthmark on Tiedan's leg and realizes that Li Chuancheng, who has sat beside her for three years, is the Tiedan she has missed for so long. The two fall in love.
After graduation, Xiaolong and Xiaofeng follow their adoptive parents to the Northeast. Tiedan joins the army and goes to Shenyang; years later, his parents arrange his marriage, and after he arrives at the corps, the two unexpectedly meet again. Learning that Tiedan is married, Xiaofeng keeps her feelings alive under the guise of a brother-sister relationship.

About the publisher
Art and Design Press is a Chinese publishing house whose publishing focus is social fiction. Public information about the press is limited, and only one title from its catalogue is currently on record. Its representative book is Belief by Li Zhaocheng, a work classified as social fiction, which reflects the press's attention to realistic themes and narratives about social issues. Judging from the available titles, although the press is named Art and Design Press, it places its literary publishing emphasis on the field of social fiction, and Li Zhaocheng is the only representative author currently visible. About the author
Li Zhaocheng: publicly available information about this author is currently limited, and details such as nationality, dates of birth and death, and educational background have not been clearly recorded. His confirmed creative output is a single social novel, Faith (Xinyang). Judging from the work's classification, Li Zhaocheng's writing leans toward realistic social themes, using the novel form to attend to the circumstances and spiritual choices of people within social reality. The title Faith itself suggests that the work may revolve around belief, values, or life choices, though the specific plot, character arrangements, and narrative techniques remain for readers to discover in the text. Since only this one work appears under the author's name, it is difficult to summarize his overall creative trajectory or stylistic development, or to judge whether his writing has been sustained. For researchers, Faith can be read within the context of contemporary social fiction, examining how it draws on real-world issues and the stance it expresses; for general readers, this work is currently the only available entry point for understanding this author.
