Immortal Prison is a long-running xianxia novel by web author Zhu Jiulun Kafei, completed on Qidian Chinese Network on February 24, 2013. It runs about 2.87 million characters across more than 920 chapters and is divided into multiple volumes, including the "Mystery Volume," "Spirit Realm Volume," and "Immortal Realm Volume." The story centers on a wondrous pagoda called the Immortal Prison: not a weapon for killing, but a portable prison. The protagonist, Su Che, does not rush to slay the cultivators who oppose him; instead, he takes them into the pagoda and turns them into free labor—alchemists refine pills for him, artifact refiners forge artifacts for him, talisman masters make talismans for him, and everyone's specialty is fully exploited. The Immortal Prison has an even more outrageous function: it can extract prisoners' spell skills and divine abilities, and even the Three Thousand Great Daos wielded by Great Luo Golden Immortals must be handed over obediently once inside. Thus, cultivation resources that others fight and die for become, for Su Che, a cycle of "capture—extract." The novel follows Su Che's rise from a minor cultivator in the Qi Refining stage, weaving in experiences such as subduing heavenly demons, exploring secret realms, and venturing into the Demon-Sealing Domain. The setting extends from the mortal world to the spirit realm and then to the immortal realm, presenting an alternative path of cultivation that "nourishes the Dao through prison." The style leans toward traditional leveling-up power fantasy, with ingenious worldbuilding and brisk pacing, making it one of the more representative works of the portable-space and prison-genre xianxia of its time.
