From Wuxia to Xuanhuan

From Wuxia to Xuanhuan is an Eastern fantasy web novel by the author Toutong de Meifa Chuangzuo. It was serialized on Qidian from September 22, 2015, and completed on October 31, 2016, running about 2.26 million characters across 967 chapters. The story is set on the ancient continent of the Ten Thousand Races: humans are innately frail, yet their weak bodies give them extraordinary adaptability. By imitating the forms and powers of gods, demons, and fierce beasts, they eventually develop a martial system all their own and hold their ground against the other races. The protagonist, Xiao Ran, accidentally transmigrates to this continent and discovers he carries a "cheat" that lets him travel through wuxia worlds. Compared with the ancient continent, those wuxia worlds are far lower in martial attainment, so Xiao Ran brings the more mature and advanced high-tier martial systems of the main world into one classic wuxia plane after another, driving the local martial artists to leap collectively and pushing their jianghu toward a "super-martial world." The novel re-places classic characters and sects from Jin Yong, Gu Long, and others into a sci-fi-inflected framework of martial progression: Qiao Feng's palm unleashes eighteen golden dragons across the sky, Zhang Wuji holds the sun and moon in his hands, the Lord of Baiyun City comes with a sword from the west as the sword spirit tears through the air, and Ximen Chuixue becomes a blade that cleaves the heavens—all typical of this "wuxia-xuanhuan" approach. The book links multiple dungeon worlds through cross-plane travel, continually upgrading its martial setting as the plot advances, combining visceral thrills with the pleasure of world-building.
