This is a cultivation fantasy novel with a decidedly old-school temperament: no system panels, no invincibility from the first page, but an honest, patient build-up from the world itself, laying out cultivation methods, beast essence, potential fruits, and divine-weapon forging layer by layer before letting the characters step inside. The best thing about the book is the paired contrast of "sword" and "blade." Sword Chenfeng and Blade Kuangfeng, two names that carry the author's attitude: one walks the stately path of the sword, the other the fierce path of the blade. Their two growth arcs cross again and again within the arrangement of the seven great sects of the Central Plains, three righteous and four evil, and reading them feels like watching two protagonists bring out the best in each other. The Dusk Sword, the Ghost-God Blade, and the Floating Cloud Sword are not mere props either; they form the skeleton of suspense, with the grudges of several generations hanging on these weapons. At 536 chapters and nearly two million characters, it is genuinely long, but that length is exactly what allows the sect, family, and dynasty threads to spread out. The first 27 chapters, Childhood Dreams, deal with boyhood memories and foreshadowing of origins; the pace is slow, and this is the part that most tests the reader's patience. Once the trials and matches begin, battle scenes grow dense, with divine skills, beast bodies, and formations appearing in turn, and the payoff rises noticeably. The book is especially suited to readers nostalgic for the flavor of early web fiction, that unhurried approach willing to spend ink on worldbuilding and to treat the question of good versus evil as a real proposition. For anyone looking for an old book to chew through slowly, it deserves a place on the shelf.
