The main line falls on a youth from a mountain village—he walks out of the countryside carrying medical books and pharmacopoeias, builds his skills through experience with medicine, acupuncture, and strange poisons and baffling diseases, is drawn into a series of adventures involving elemental reincarnation, the Goddess's treasure chest, and the divine inheritance, travels with companions through Suiyang, Guyue, the Elven Light Island, and the overseas Ghost Race lands, gradually uncovers the secrets of gods and demons and the truth behind the wine of immortality, and finally sets out on the path of the Medical God's inheritance. The book takes the medical way as its backbone and the trial of becoming a god as its thread, weaving difficult and miscellaneous diseases, strange poisons and assassination, and cross-race conflict together; the volumes in order are "The Medical God Emerges," "Turbulence in Suiyang," "The Divine Inheritance," "Upheaval in Guyue," "Resurrection of the Light God," "Light and Shadow," "The Dwarf's Heavenly Curse," "Tribute from All Quarters," "The Overseas Ghost Race," "The Heavenly Demon Emerges," "The Undying Body," "The World in Chaos," "The True God of the Demon Realm," "The Divine Dragon Knight," "The Demon God's Wild Dance," "The Six Spirits Assemble," and "The Book of Heavenly Law."

Editor's review

Reading tips
