The Undying Sword God

Immortal Sword God is an Eastern fantasy novel by Longteng Wanli, a contracted author on Zongheng Chinese Network (also known as Immortal Sword Emperor). It runs approximately 1.669 million Chinese characters, comprising 628 chapters plus a completion note, serialized from December 2014 to April 20, 2016. The story is set on the Abandoned Demon Continent, where martial cultivation prevails and martial prowess commands respect. The Kingdom of Ziyun is divided among six major sects—Ziyun Sect, Motuo Mountain, Yijian Pavilion, Qintian Valley, Haoyue Sect, and Bahuang Gate—and five great clans: Xiao, Qing, Teng, Feng, and Zheng. The protagonist, Xiao Fan, is the legitimate son of the Xiao clan, a youth of considerable talent who at the outset is betrayed and humiliated by his fiancée, Qing Yushan. A sudden turn of events leaves him dead—and then reborn, inheriting the continent's most powerful Immortal Bloodline. Armed with this bloodline and exquisite swordsmanship, Xiao Fan fights his way from the clan assembly tournament to the sect-system tournament, establishing his prestige with every strike of his sword and making his name known throughout Ziyun. He is soon drawn into a bloody war between the Xiao and Teng clans and the Puppet Gate, and then faces successive full-scale conflicts involving the Sword Demon Clan, the Immortal Clan, and the Human-Demon War. The book's central arc—slaying demons, contending for continental supremacy, and ascending to Sword God—is threaded throughout by layer upon layer of breakthroughs in sword technique, sword intent, and sword realm. Fast-paced and packed with satisfying payoffs, it is a quintessential hot-blooded fantasy epic of a young man rising from adversity and conquering the world with a single blade.
