Sovereign of Myriad Realms

Sovereign of Myriad Realms is a long Eastern fantasy novel by the Shaanxi-born web author Ximen Piaoxue. It began serialization on Zongheng Chinese in 2018 and concluded in 2021, running about 7.94 million characters over more than 2,500 chapters; it is the author's second hot-blooded power-fantasy after Fire Emperor Divine Lord. The story centers on the youth Ye Feng, who unexpectedly gains the ability to travel back in time and leave traces in the past, changes that are then magnified into astonishing results in the present—for example, a seed casually planted a hundred years ago has grown into a top-grade spiritual herb; an opportunity buried a thousand years ago leaves today's opponents constrained and helpless; and an old romance from ten thousand years ago has made a celestial maiden of the immortal realm wait for him through long ages. The novel opens with the youth's growth stages at the Tianyun Sect, such as the sect assessment and the autumn hunt, then incorporates time travel, myriad-realm maps, factional strife, and unraveling conspiracies. Borrowing the power of the past time and again, the protagonist grows steadily stronger while being discovered and pursued, maneuvering among all manner of rivals and companions, and ultimately moves toward becoming the "Lord of Time and Space" and settling the order of the myriad realms. The work as a whole follows a power-fantasy path that runs light humor and hot-blooded comeuppance in parallel, interweaving battles with trash talk and parody set pieces; the pace is brisk, making it a typical binge-read for male-oriented fantasy. In 2021 the work was adapted into a comic of the same name, released on Kuaikan Comics and Tencent Animation.
