The Ten Thousand Methods of the Sanskrit Healer

The Ten Thousand Methods of the Sanskrit Healer is a fantasy novel set in an alternate continent, written by Xiangsi Xihongdou. It was serialized on Qidian Chinese Network from September 2016 and completed in December 2017, running to roughly two million characters in nine volumes. The story takes place in a world ravaged by plague: here disease is embodied as "plague bodies" that parasitize the human body and cause all manner of complications, and a host who cannot promptly cut the plague body down is in mortal danger. Those who can sense spiritual energy, learn plague-eradication studies, and slay plague bodies with a healer's blade are called "plague-eradicators," the most revered and most dangerous profession in this world. The protagonist, Wei Fan, is a poor youth from the small town of Dongmu. To buy the birthday gift "Cloud-Returning Blade" for his childhood sweetheart Bai Yuxiu, he sells his blood, and is thereby drawn into the fortunes of an ancient ruin; starting from a pot of "Senqianluo" and a spitting "thief-grass man," he obtains his own healer's blade, "Passionate Lover." Thereafter, in the academy's graduation examination he becomes the Divine Martial Champion with a perfect score, first in the school's history; he takes a train to the capital and enters Capital University, passing through the death trial, the end-of-term practical, and the invasion of the Black Crow Death Corps, earning the name "Perfect-Score King" and tracing clues to the mysterious organization "Ten Commandments." After the third volume he travels to Luodu for the Eastern Ladder Tournament, representing Capital University against the geniuses of other schools in events such as the human-shaped pharmacopoeia and the white-mouse battle, finally leading Capital University to the championship and taking the MVP himself. In the final stretch, the tournament venue falls into chaos, the Ten Commandments' leader appears, and in the ultimate battle Wei Fan unleashes the full power of his famous blade, revealing the secrets of his origins and the "God-Weeping Cells." The book's core slogan is "As a plague-eradicator, I hold the healer's blade to cut down all the world's plagues and hew through sun, moon, and stars," and its cultivation system includes such realms as Body Tempering, Qi Refining, Origin Return, and Dragon Slaying.
