Toxin is a six-issue limited series launched by Marvel in 2005, written by Peter Milligan and drawn by Darick Robertson. The protagonist is NYPD officer Pat Mulligan, who hosts a symbiote within his body. In symbiote lineage terms, he is Venom's grandchild and Carnage's son. After Venom vs. Carnage, Pat leaves his wife and young son behind with this power and fights criminals alone in the city. This volume is the second of the series, continuing the groundwork of Volume 1, depicting Pat's relationship with the creature inside him growing more strained, and, amid a massive prison break, his choice between helping others and losing self-control. The series totals six volumes, of which this is one; to fully follow the story, read all six in order.
