Rogues! Vol. 2

Rogues! is a sword-and-sorcery comedy series created by the Spanish writer El Torres and the artist Juan José Ryp, published in English in the United States by Amigo Comics, the independent press Torres founded in Spain. It is set in the fictional city of Gerada and follows two robbers: Bram, a boastful strongman from the North, and the Weasel, a quick-witted, sharp-tongued female thief. The pair often regale drinkers at the tavern The Horn and the Maiden with tales of their adventures, and the series unfolds within this tavern-storytelling frame. This volume is issue 2 of the series (released June 2013), continuing and concluding the "Curse of the Chicken" arc begun in the previous issue. Having been hired to break into the tower of the great wizard Amthaeramus, Bram and the Weasel incur his wrath and are struck with the worst curse a thief can suffer: no matter what they do, a chicken appears out of nowhere and follows them everywhere, driving them nearly mad. To lift the curse they first interrogate the wizard's servant and learn that no living wizard will help them—only a dead one can. They break into a graveyard, pass through trap after trap into the tomb, and seek the dead wizard's solution. The final twist is unexpected. The art in this issue is by Miguel Genlot, replacing Ryp, with colors by Rubén Rojas and a cover by Emanuela Lupacchino.
